En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, si bien la tasa de mortalidad ha bajado gracias a las constantes campa\u00f1as de prevenci\u00f3n, los tratamientos con ECMO (mecanismo de oxigenaci\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea), la aplicaci\u00f3n de plasma inmune y respiraci\u00f3n asistida, los riesgos de contagio se mantienen.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">De acuerdo a cifras entregadas por el Instituto de Salud P\u00fablica (ISP), los primeros casos de Hantavirus en Chile <strong>se registraron en 1995<\/strong>, con \u00a0letalidades iniciales de 60 a 80%. Este \u00edndice ha disminuido hasta llegar entre 30 al 40% en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Los tratamientos, en conjunto con el desarrollo de una vacuna contra el virus, investigaci\u00f3n liderada por la Dra. Barr\u00eda, podr\u00edan bajar definitivamente la mortalidad a cero.
